Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of eiof.org (the “Website”), which is operated by Eastern Iowa Outdoors Foundation (“EIOF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Website.
About EIOF
Eastern Iowa Outdoors Foundation is a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
EIOF works with landowners, donors, public agencies, conservation organizations, businesses, and community partners to protect important land, expand outdoor recreation, and create lasting public access throughout Eastern Iowa.
Website Content
The Website provides general information about EIOF, its mission, projects, partnerships, fundraising activities, and opportunities to become involved.
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Website accurate and current. However, conservation projects, land acquisitions, funding needs, partnerships, public-access plans, timelines, and other circumstances may change.
Website content is provided for general informational purposes and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that:
-
A proposed project will be completed
-
A property will be acquired, restored, or opened to the public
-
A particular amount of funding will be raised
-
A specific partner will participate
-
A project will be completed within a particular timeframe
-
Public access will include particular activities, amenities, or uses
EIOF may revise, remove, or update Website content at any time without notice.
No Professional Advice
Information provided through the Website does not constitute legal, financial, investment, real-estate, conservation, accounting, or tax advice.
Landowners, donors, partners, and other visitors should consult qualified professional advisors before making decisions involving property, charitable giving, taxes, estate planning, conservation easements, land transactions, or other legal or financial matters.
Donations
Donations made to EIOF support its charitable mission and related organizational activities.
Tax Deductibility
Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. The deductibility of a particular contribution depends on the donor’s circumstances, the nature of the contribution, and whether the donor receives goods or services in return.
Donors should consult their own tax advisors regarding the deductibility and reporting of contributions. EIOF will provide donation acknowledgments as required by applicable law.
Donation Processing
Online donations may be processed by an independent payment provider. By submitting a donation, you authorize the applicable processor to charge the selected payment method for the amount shown.
The payment provider’s own terms and privacy policy may also apply to the transaction. EIOF is not responsible for disruptions, errors, or security incidents caused solely by an independent payment processor.
Donor Designations
When EIOF accepts a contribution designated for a particular project or purpose, EIOF will use the contribution in a manner consistent with the applicable gift terms, charitable purpose, donor communication, and legal requirements.
If a designated project becomes fully funded, impracticable, impossible to complete, or materially changes, EIOF will address the contribution in accordance with applicable law and any relevant donor agreement.
Donors interested in making a substantial, restricted, planned, noncash, or property-related contribution should contact EIOF before completing the gift so that its purpose and terms can be properly documented.
Refunds
Charitable contributions are generally final and nonrefundable. EIOF may consider a refund when:
-
A donation was made in error
-
An incorrect amount was charged
-
A duplicate transaction occurred
-
The payment method was used without authorization
-
A refund is otherwise required by law
Refund requests should be submitted promptly using the contact information below. Approval of a refund is subject to verification and applicable legal, accounting, and payment-processing requirements.
Submitting Land or Project Information
The Website may allow visitors to tell EIOF about land, conservation projects, partnership opportunities, or other potential initiatives.
Submitting information does not:
-
Create an agency, advisory, fiduciary, partnership, or contractual relationship
-
Require EIOF to evaluate or pursue the opportunity
-
Constitute an offer or acceptance involving real property
-
Guarantee confidentiality unless EIOF has agreed to it separately in writing
-
Authorize EIOF to act on behalf of a landowner or other party
-
Guarantee that EIOF will provide funding, acquire property, or participate in a project
Do not submit confidential property, financial, legal, or personal information through a general Website form. Contact EIOF directly if sensitive information needs to be discussed.
Any land acquisition, conservation arrangement, restricted contribution, partnership, or project commitment must be documented in a separate written agreement signed by the appropriate parties.
