EIOF pursues Eastern Iowa properties that can create lasting public access to the outdoors. We look for places with meaningful natural, recreational, or scenic value—such as woods, water, wetlands, trails, wildlife habitat, fishing access, or connections to existing public land.
Every opportunity is considered for its potential public benefit, long-term stewardship, local support, and ability to bring the right partners together. The goal is not simply to acquire land, but to help turn important places into protected, accessible community assets for generations to enjoy.
